Zanzibar Deep Sea Fishing Day Tour -
Duration: Full Day | Fishing Destination: Zanzibar - Nungwi
Zanzibar Deep Sea Fishing Day Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to cruise out to sea with a Zanzibari fisherman and see what fishing for a living is really all about. Zanzibar has marvelous fishing almost all the year.
Our large twin-screw craft is equipped to the highest international safety standards. Our experienced skipper can instruct novices and talk fishermen through any procedure in the course of reeling in their catch.
Tag and release is generally encouraged for all big fish unless it is the fisherman's first ever catch, his biggest to date, or if it is likely to be an East African or All Africa record. Yellowfin Tuna are best fished in August to November provides really good sport for the big, one of the strongest fish around.
Big Blue Marlin and a number of Striped and Black Marlin are also found, as well as Sailfish. November to March is the billfish season. Striped Marlin are the most prolific, sometimes showing in packs of up to ten. Large Blue and Black Marlin are also quite common during this period.

Zanzibar Deep Sea Fishing Tour Detailed Itinerary
Your large twin-engine craft boat departs from Zanzibar - Ras Nungwi at 0630 hours. Fishing Zanzibar is located in Nungwi, a fishing village on the north-western tip of Zanzibar Island where the fishing grounds of Zanzibar, Pemba and the famous Pemba Channel are not even a stone's throw away.
Fishing is by trolling a combination of lures or natural dead baits (Ballyhoo or strips) or live bait. Billfish such as striped, black and blue marlin as well as the acrobatic and dazzling sailfish and elusive spearfish abound in these crystal waters.
Yellow fin tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, Barracuda, Kingfish (Trevally), King & Queen Mackerel and the lesser game fish such as Bonito tuna, Skipjack tuna and Rainbow Runner provide endless hours of adrenalin filled game fishing action out on the water.
African Spice Safaris uses a local company who are members of the International Game Fish Association and actively encourage a catch and release policy of all billfish and sharks unless they are likely to be East Africa, all Africa, World record fish or the skipper believes the fish is unlikely to survive release.
With Leven bank just 5 miles north of Nungwi and the drop-offs and deep blue water east of Mnemba Island about 12 miles east, the well equipped fishing boats and professional crews will have you in the mix in no time!
The boats are available for half day or full day charters and night fishing trip for broadbill, the “gladiator of the sea”, can be arranged and will certainly test your skills as an angler.
Boats are fitted with a full electronics package i.e. GPS/ Chartplotter, Fishfinder/ Sonar, VHF and a Category 1 Safety equipment package. On the fishing side they are fitted with fighting chair, outriggers and downrigger.
Rods and reels (Shimano & Daiwa) from 20lb through to 80lb and a full selection of lures are available to guests onboard!

Zanzibar Scuba Diving Day Tour
Zanzibar Scuba Diving Day Trip take place at Nungwi which is situated at the north coast of Zanzibar. We offer the best diving in East Africa for small groups of experienced divers.
The day before we will confirm with you the pick up time for the shuttle bus for the next day. The drive from Stone Town to Ras Nungwi is a scenic 75 - 90 minutes. On arrival we will start with filling in the forms, try the equipment and we need to see the certification cards.
Depending of the tides we will leave by boat (30 minutes) or by bus (30 minutes Bumpy ride) when it is low tide. We keep the groups as small as possible and it depends of your qualification in which group you are diving. All groups are always diving with a PADI instructor or Dive Master who will do a good and informative dive briefing before each dive.
We do maximum 1 hour dive, 1 hour surface interval and then the 2nd dive of max. 1 hour. In the surface interval we will have some Zanzibar snacks, fruits and spice tea and we relax on the boat.
The first day we will choose an easy dive (depending of the certification and your last dive).
What you can expect to see is Green turtles, Moray eels, Giant trevallies, stingrays, frogfish, white tip sharks, lion fish and of course the Bottlenose Dolphins.
If you are lucky you can swim with them in between the dives, but there is a strict no touching and no chasing policy.
We will return to the dive centre depending of the tides with the bus or boat trip. At the
dive centre we will log the dives, check the fish books and our drivers will return the
guests back to the Hotel.

Access:
Most visitors arrive in Dar-es-Salaam — Tanzania's largest city — and transfer to their final destination.

Beginners through advanced divers will find something incredible in Tanzania.
Scuba Gear:
It’s always a good idea to bring as much of your dive gear as possible but equipment hire is also available.
